Jack+Liddle+-+Outdoor+Rec+and+Retreats+Director

Kia ora! My name is Jack Liddle and I am pleased to join the Kadesh team as the Outdoor Recreation and Retreats Director.

My goal (and job) is to make the Outdoor Rec program and retreats at Camp Kadesh the best Saskatchewan has to offer. My dream is to see our programs create lasting impressions and to equip young leaders with the skills they need to serve in our schools, communities and churches. I believe that camps offer a unique ability to create opportunities that will build character and help people to discover the skills they need to succeed. I love to see people experience new things and connect with God in the outdoors. I love instructing groups and being able to train people in the art of instruction.

I grew up in New Zealand and was blessed to spend my summers working and attending multiple camps in the Southern hemisphere as well as across Saskatchewan. It was through these experiences that I developed a passion for the work camps do and a desire to disciple and equip staff with the skills needed to succeed in outdoor leadership. I went to school in New Zealand to become an outdoor instructor and worked for Finlay Park Adventure Camp as a climbing, kayaking and high ropes instructor before moving to Canada. Since arriving in the mighty province of Saskatchewan, my passion for camping lead me to Bethel Gospel Camp where I helped run their Leaders in Training (LIT) program and canoe trips on the Churchill River. My last two summers have been spent at Stoney Lake Bible Camp working to train staff in activities and helping with their LIT Program. In the spring of 2019, the opportunity arose to enter into full time camp ministry at Camp Kadesh. I was very excited about the possibility of working in the field I had studied to be in, and never dreamed an opportunity like this would ever come up when I moved to Saskatchewan in 2016. I truly feel that God has paved the way for me and guided my family and I to serve at Camp Kadesh.

I live on site at Kadesh with my wife Kerstyn. She is a middle year’s teacher who is currently an incredible stay home mom looking after our daughter, Rylee. We love canoeing, rock climbing and any excuse to head to the mountains. In our spare time, Kerstyn and I enjoy fishing and going on canoe trips in Northern Saskatchewan. I like to dabble in gardening and am always on the hunt for a new project or hobby.
