Hi! I’m Deanna and I am the Food Services Manager and Head Cook here at Camp Kadesh.

I grew up at Bible Camp (was born there actually) so you could say that camp is in my blood. Growing up as a staff kid gave me a unique appreciation for the ministry of Bible Camp. I wouldn’t have traded that for the world and I’m very excited that I get to provide that same kind of childhood for my daughter.

I have worked at quite a few camps over the years (in all 4 prairie provinces) in a number of different positions (kitchen help, cabin leader, LIT leader, chapel coordinator, program director), and cooking is my most favorite thing to do at camp. I love cooking and baking, and being able to do it full time at camp is my idea of a perfect job. Some people may wonder why I chose such a “behind the scenes” job at camp, but a friend of mine once told me that God often speaks in a still, small voice and it’s hard to hear that voice over a rumbling tummy. I have seen that to be true and love being able to provide good, home-cooked meals to kids and staff. This allows the staff to do their job of loving on the kids and sharing the love of Jesus with them, and it allows the campers to enjoy their time here and be receptive to the message of the gospel.

I have quite a few hobbies that I enjoy in my down time. I love embroidery, reading, making friendship bracelets, playing the piano and singing and I am active in our church worship team.

If you want to get in touch with me directly you can click here to contact me. It’s a form, but it sends an email directly to my inbox and I will see it quickly and be able to respond to you directly. (we just do it this way to minimize spam… it’s no secret that my email is kitchen “at” campkadesh “dot” com, so if you prefer, send an email that way)
