The primary purpose of the Year Round Program Leader (YRPL) role will be to help expand and deliver programs in the Fall and Winter seasons. (Fall & Winter Outdoor Recreation, Homeschool Day Camps, Retreats etc.) The secondary purpose of these positions will be to fill leadership roles in our Spring OREC season and Summer camps. The additional intent of this position is to develop Christian camp leaders in their abilities and experience, and expand and enhance all that Camp Kadesh does in a year. These positions will primarily report to the Camp Director but will also work with other members of the full time Kadesh team on other projects in the yearly cycle of camp.  An ideal candidate will have a desire to be in full-time camp ministry, be a joy filled follower of Jesus, and a passion for learning and leading in a camp setting. These positions will be a one year contract.

Responsibilities

This job will include, but not limited to the following:

  • Participate in the facilitation of all programs offered at Camp Kadesh

  • Maintain program materials, repairs, and needs for assigned program areas

  • Add input into planning budgets, and purchasing equipment and supplies

  • Do seasonal inventory of assigned program areas

  • Help with developing new games and activities

  • Work with full time staff to develop and create new initiatives.

  • Participate in the planning and development of facilities in regards to program

  • Participate in the planning and developing new program elements 

  • Assist with the property and facility needs

  • Assist with food service requirements for guests (eg. food prep and cleaning)

  • Be a primary contact & host for retreat/rental groups

  • Attend different promotional events

  • Participate in 1 on 1 staff development program

  • Participate in the full time staff meetings and development

Other Possible Duties or areas of oversight (based on skill set and experience)

  • Supervise Waterfront & all water based activities (Lifeguard)

  • Assist with Camp Kadesh Media outlets 

  • Assist with camp store

  • Assist in Camper Registration and Sign-in

  • Help with scheduling and planning Kadesh events

  • Help with staff scheduling in Fall & Winter programs

Qualifications

  • Character that resembles the life of Jesus Christ

  • A desire to learn more about the camp industry

  • Experience working with children & youth

  • Experience in camp programming

  • Hold Saskatchewan Class 5 License or equivalent

  • Hold (or be able to get) CPR, and First Aid certification

  • Technical ability to work with MS Office, Google docs etc. 

  • Agree to the Mission, Purpose and Statements of Faith of Camp Kadesh

  • Ability to do physical labour 

Other desirable skills and experience

  • Experience managing social media accounts

  • Additional certifications (NLA, climbing and high ropes, paddle canada etc.) 

  • ​​Hold a valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card (or be willing to acquire)

  • Experience with event planning and administration 

  • Musical ability

This position will be a one year contract from May 1st to the end of April 26. This position will be a salary position with a starting total compensation of $30,000. This position comes with housing included on site at Camp Kadesh and 3 weeks of paid holidays and additional scheduled paid time off in lieu of higher work periods of our programming.
