Zipline & Whipper 2.0
Why build a Zipline?
For many years campers have been wanting a Zipline, and with needing to have work done on the Whipper, and paying the company to come out and do the work, it seemed to make sense. We’re saving money in the long run, and creating an activity campers have been dreaming of.
What will the Zipline look like?
The Zipline will be over 40ft tall, with a 300ft run. With two large posts on either end (one by our Climbing Wall, and the other past our Mud Pit). Campers will climb to the top of the first post, and while harnessed in safely, jump off the platform and zoom towards the second. Engineered by professionals, gravity will bring them to a slow stop just about where our Mud-Pit is (which is being filled in). Staff will role a ladder to the camper, and get them down safely.
Why replace the current whipper?
Our current Whipper has served us incredibly well over the years. But, with it being used often, there has been significant wear and tear, and it was due to have significant repairs. When we looked at the cost of repairs, it made more sense to replace it.
What is the Whipper 2.0?
The Whipper 2.0 will be almost identical to our current Whipper with one major change. It will be able to hold 2 campers at a time AND still have the ability of doing one camper at a time. This will speed things up during our OREC programming, plus make it more enjoyable for campers as they get to enjoy the thrill with a friend!
